Several Killed in Small Plane Crash in the Bahamas, Officials Say

The Bahamian Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority detailed that the plane, a Cessna 402 registered locally, departed from Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau and was en route to San Andros when the crash took place.
Minister JoBeth Coleby-Davis of Energy, Utilities and Aviation noted that the suspension of Flamingo Air’s air operator certificate is a precautionary measure. This decision follows two safety incidents reported on Friday. The first involved a Flamingo Air plane that turned back to Nassau after a pilot reported an issue while traveling to Mayaguana. Upon landing, the aircraft caught fire, she explained.
